We built our first owl nest box! Now steve has to get it on the side of the tree without milking himself. The boys helped me paint it. So glad to have it done, but not sure I can build a chicken coop. This took almost all day!

Blake's new kitty ... Steve's new mouser
Last weekend Steve told the littles we were going to get two kitties to be our mouser cats. Right now they're in our laundry room until they're big enough to venture outside. Blake loves coming in here and torturing, I mean, playing with the kitties.
This one is Cuddles, at least that's what Blake started with. Who knows.
Our other one is white with orange on it's ears and tail and is called snow.
;)
Stinging Nettles Out in the Pasture
Max found some stinging nettles out back. Definitely a "no-touch" thing.
While researching, I found that people use them as medicine for rheumatism, arthritis, used in shampoo to help dandruff and make hair more glossy, for tea, beer, and has been compared to spinach for nutrients ... Just make sure to soak in water or cook if you don't want stung!
Should we keep them around and make shampoo? Ha ha?
